Kenosha Thanksgiving Race 2014

Mayor's Turkey Day Run Kenosha WI 2014
Biased as we may be toward Italian cuisine here at Palmen Fiat, we love Thanksgiving as much as anybody. What could be better than a day filled with food, football, and family? Well, maybe one that involved some sort of physical activity to counter all of the eating and couch-sitting. There are folks to whom that will sound completely insane, but for those who like to be active or who are working on nailing down an exercise routine, having a fun community event that encourages you to move on a day like Thanksgiving sounds great! How about the Kenosha Thanksgiving race 2014, known as the Mayor’s Turkey Day Run? We’ll give you the details of this fun, all-ages event here.
So what does this entail? I have to run? Well, you certainly can, and quite a bit if you like. Your two options for the race are a 10k or a 2-mile walk/run.
When is the race? Thanksgiving day this year is Thursday November 27th, so that’s the day of the race! It begins promptly at 9am, so you’ll be able to pick up your packet the day before (Wed. 11/26) between 3:00pm and 8:00pm at the Kenosha Museum on 1st Avenue, or on race day between 7:30am and 8:45am.

Where are the races?
Both the 2-mile walk/run and the 10k race begin and end at the Kenosha Museum at 5500 1st Avenue. The mostly flat course runs over asphalt, concrete, and park pathways.
Where and how do I register? You can register online here — It’ll cost $15 to register for either race ($10 if the participant is 14 years old or younger). Online registration closes on Friday the 21st. There is no race day registration.
Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top male and female runners, and T-shirts will be given to the first 2,000 registered entries.
We hope you get a chance to participate in this fun community event that will kickstart your Thanksgiving and make you feel like you can eat all the turkey and stuffing your heart desires without feeling too gluttonous about it!
