If you’re looking for a haunted  house to attend with your family or friends this Halloween season, there are plenty throughout Wisconsin to choose from, many of which are long-running, highly-rated, and action-packed! But if long car rides aren’t your thing, or you just want to take advantage of the local offerings before you go branching out from there, we’ve got a little list put together for you of some Kenosha Haunted Houses for 2014 that you can go to for your scares, and the furthest one’s not more than a half hour away!
Let’s start with the House Horror Built, located here in Kenosha in the town of Somers. This one’s back for 2014 after a year hiatus of terrifying expansions, and it’s better than ever. The House Horror Built costs $12 for admittance and takes about 10-15 minutes to go through, after which you’ll get to eperience “Horror Under the Big Top,” a Chromadepth 3D experience involving some very unfriendly clowns. If that sounds terrifying to you… go for it! Halloween only comes once a year! It runs on weekends starting on the 10th through November 1st. Get tickets here or at the event.
Next up is the Kemper Center haunted house! Whether you’re a regular visitor to the center or you’ve never been, this is your chance to experience it like never before. The Teen Task Force of the Concerned Citizens Coalition puts together this amazing haunted house, allowing visitors to explore parts of the center that are normally closed to the public. The Kemper Center is at 6501 Third Avenue in Kenosha and dates for the Halloween event are October 10 & 11, 17 & 18, 24 & 25, and on Halloween night (Friday, 10/31). Admission is $7 and $5 for kids.
Now, if you’re looking for one of those grand-scale haunted house complexes that really puts on a huge production, you’re in luck because just over in Mt. Pleasant you’ll find the Abandoned Haunted House Complex — it features two full-size houses of terror and draws a big crowd from throughout the region. Open on weekends and some Thursdays and Sundays throughout the month (schedule here), and prices are listed here.
We here at Palmen Fiat wish everyone a spectacularly terrifying haunted house experience this year!
