Parallel or Blended Plug-in Hybrids: these have both an engine and an electric motor that are connected to the wheels. Both are able to move the vehicle under typical driving conditions. In these, the vehicle runs on electricity-only when going slowly.
While there are two main kinds of plug-in hybrids, there are different sized batteries that can hold different capacities in different vehicles. Driving conditions, and style can have an affect on the battery life.
The basic benefits, as we mostly know, are that we use less gas which saves us money. It’s better for the environment because it produces less greenhouse gas emissions. The tricky part is remembering the charging takes time, more or less depending on battery size, and that the vehicles cost more up front.
