Does the Alfa Romeo Giulia have a turbocharged engine?

2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia performance

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a true Italian car. That means not only does it have style and elegance, but it also has power and performance. See what we mean as we discuss 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia performance for both the standard engine and the impressive Quadrifoglio engine.

What engine does the Alfa Romeo Giulia have?

Under the hood, the Giulia and the Giulia Ti both pack a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. This isn’t just any engine but a turbocharged engine. With the use of its turbocharger, this little powerhouse can generate 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque.
With these impressive performance numbers, the Giulia can reach a top speed of 149 mph and achieve a 0-60 mph time of just 5.1 seconds. This makes the Giulia better than the Audi A4, the Mercedes-Benz C 300, the Jaguar XE, and the Lexus IS 300 in both top speed and horsepower.

What engine does the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio have?

If the Giulia itself wasn’t impressive enough, the Quadrifoglio will blow your mind. Under the hood, the Giulia Quadrifoglio packs a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6. This monstrous engine can produce 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio leaves everything in the dust, even the standard Giulia. With all that power under the hood, it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, and it can achieve a top speed of 191 mph.

If that weren’t enough, the Giulia Quadrifoglio has even been tested on the Nürburgring, where it achieved a very respectable 7:32 lap time on the Nordschleife or North Loop section of the track. The Nürburgring is one of the most strenuous tracks on the planet, and the Nordschleife consists of 154 turns spread across nearly 13 miles of track.

Is the Alfa Romeo Giulia rear-wheel drive?

Like any true sports car, the Alfa Romeo Giulia is indeed rear-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive cars are built for acceleration. As you put your foot on the gas, all your car’s weight shifts from the front to the back. Moreover, putting all the weight on those powered rear wheels gives you improved acceleration for a more fun ride.
