It is not enough to clean your car at the drive through. When it comes to convertibles, you should always clean the top part at least twice a year with special cleaners. Why? Because there are certain factors of the cleaner that will help you keep that beautiful top in perfect state.

For instance, the cleaner should be biodegradable so it does not leave long-term residue. Never use abrasive detergents or powders that have damaging bleaching agents like chlorine, because these can wash away the protective oils that keep the threads together.

It is important that when you are going to wash your convertible, that you do it with the top down since the top part of these vehicle requires much more regular cleaning. And remember to park your car in the shade since extra exposure to ultraviolet rays may cause the top to start to fade or weaken. And use cold water!
