Car Care Tips

Owning a vehicle is a great experience in so many ways –  you get the pride of having something of great value, that’s fun and functional and makes your life easier. You car can quickly become an extension of you:  People see your car –  even if someone else is driving it and it just resembles yours – and they think, “Oh hey, I know you!” That’s probably especially true if you’ve got a Fiat –  Just saying, they pack an awful lot of personality in case you hadn’t noticed. But what we’re getting at today is that with the pride, joy, and recognition of ownership comes the responsibility. Taking good care of your vehicle is crucial to protecting its long-term value. Today we’ll offer up some car care tips to help you do just that.

Safe driving will help in the long run.

One way to take care of your vehicle is to make sure it stays clean. That’s not just for aesthetic purposes, though it surely doesn’t hurt matters to have a nice-looking ride. But dirt leads to corrosion and corrosion is a major devaluer. You don’t need that! Keep your exterior and interior clean for a healthier car.
Tire pressure! Between avoiding potentially-hazardous blowouts and saving on fuel costs, you really don’t want to let your tire pressure get away from you. But on top of that, driving on underinflated tires is extremely bad for the tires themselves and will lead to your needing replacements much sooner than you’d like.
Schedule regular service appointments to make sure you’re taking proper care of things like oil changes, tire rotation, and routine inspections that can save you a lot of headaches down the road. Sure, it can be a pain to arrange and make it in for these services, but it’s much better in the big picture to just do it!
Drive safely! In addition to the immediate and potentially life-saving benefits to careful, conscientious driving, it’s much easier on your car, too. Think gradual starts and stops, wide turns, and gentle acceleration. You want to step on it occasionally, of course, but it should be the exception, and the rule should be geared toward long-term car health.
