Fiat’s new roadster: the 124 Spider

Spiders aren’t usually something we try to find, but the new Fiat 124 Spider looks to be an exciting vehicle that any car enthusiast would be excited to find. Mazda and Fiat have teamed up and are working to put out a roadster that will harken back to the retro nameplate for Fiat from the 1960’s. The new 2015 Fiat 124 Spider roadster is said to be in development and will head in a different direction than the Miata. We’ll tell you what we know about the Fiat 124 Spider US release date.

If you heard of the Miata and were disappointed to find that it is not as powerful as other vehicles in the same class, Fiat has made an answer to that. The official name for the Fiat roadster is the 124 Spider, as confirmed by Chrysler’s head Sergio Marchionne at the Geneva Motor Show.

Originally thought to be an Alfa Romeo, it appears the Fiat and Mazda are going alone as Alfa Romeo decided to make their own roadster. Based on the Miata platform, but assumed to be introducing more power and speed, the 124 Spider is an exciting resurfacing of the Fiat sports car history that has been largely quiet for the last few decades.

After the Chrysler takeover that happened last year, Fiat, along with other Chrysler brands, have been making big changes in design and production. It is no surprise to us that the Fiat brand is headed in the 124 Spider direction. We’re excited to see what the team of designers at Fiat come up with, and anticipate its arrival in the future.

With all the new releases and the very exciting entrance of the Fiat 500X later this year, we are thrilled that the Fiat lineup is growing and gaining popularity all over the world. Check back often to see the latest news about Fiat and the 124 Fiat Spider.
